T140® provides a fully automated round robin contest called an Event. It involves 7 twenty minute rounds for anywhere between 4 and 16 Players. Its handicapping system (Player Advantage) ensures every Player has an equal chance of winning. Events are created by Clubs and then managed by players through the T140 Player App on their smart phones. On average a T140 Event will complete in under 3 hours and a T140 Express Event in under 1.5 hours.

A T140 Express Event is the same round robin format as a T140 Event, although with 10 minute rounds instead of 20 minute rounds. As a T140 Express Event is half the time, everything else in a T140 Event is also half, half the target (350 points for most codes, 700 for English Billiards), half the Player Advantage, and half the Ranking Points in T140 Ranking Events.

A Player becomes eligible to earn T140 Ranking Points, (by either completing a total 1,120 minutes of competition (8 Events) in T140 Events or T140 Express Events, or if they registered through a Club and the Club used their existing robust Fargo Rating. These are called T140 Ranked Players. You are then a Ranked Player in all codes. When participating within T140 Ranking Events they can earn T140 Ranking Points. Ranking Points are calculated based on a Player’s last 1,820 playing minutes in Ranking Events.

Players who have completed in more than 1,120 minutes of T140 playing time, across either T140 Events or T140 Express Events, or if they registered through a Club and the Club used their existing robust Fargo Rating, become eligible to earn T140 Ranking Points if they participate in a T140 Ranking Events. An Event is a T140 Ranking Event if:

  • at least four Players are T140 Ranked Players, and
  • at least half of the players in the Event are T140 Ranked Players.

If the above conditions are met, the Event becomes a T140 Ranking Event. This means at the end of the Event the T140 Ranked Players are allocated T140 Ranking Points.

  1. Our Agreement.
    1. If any aspect of this agreement is unenforceable, the rest will remain in force.
    2. Any amendment or waiver to our agreement must be in writing and signed by T140™. If we fail to enforce any aspect of this agreement, it will not be a waiver of our rights.
    3. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.
  2. Who has rights under this Agreement?
    1. This agreement does not give rights to any third parties.
    2. You cannot transfer your rights or obligations under this agreement without our prior written consent which can be withheld in our absolute discretion.
    3. Our rights and obligations can be assigned to others. For example, this could occur if our ownership changes (as in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets) or by law.
  3. Who is responsible if something happens?
    1. The System is provided "as is," and T140™ does not guarantee it will be safe and secure or will work perfectly all the time. To the extent permitted by law, T140™ also disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.
    2. We also do not control what people and others do or say, and we are not responsible for their (or your) actions or conduct (whether online or offline) or content (including unlawful or objectionable content). We also are not responsible for content and features offered by other people or companies, even if you access them through the System.
    3. Our responsibility for anything that happens on the System is limited as much as the law will allow. If there is an issue with the System, we cannot know what all the possible impacts might be. You agree that we will not be responsible (liable) for any lost profits, revenues, information, or data, or consequential, special, indirect, exemplary, punitive, or incidental damages arising out of or related to these Terms, even if we know they are possible. This limitation includes when we delete your content, information, or account.
  4. How we will handle disputes.
    1. If you are a consumer, the laws of the country in which you reside will apply to any claim, cause of action, or dispute you have against us that arises out of or relates to these Terms (Claim), and you may resolve your claim in any competent court in that country that has authority over the claim. We may change the System and Policies, and we may need to make changes to these Terms so that they accurately reflect the System and Policies. Unless otherwise required by law, we will notify you (for example, through the System or on the T140.com website) when we make changes to these Terms. Then, if you continue to use the System after the update has occurred, the updated Terms will bind you. If you do not want to agree to these or any updated Terms, you may delete your account.

You can click on this link Sign Up and just follow the steps. It’s a very simple process. Once you have registered, we will send you a Club welcome pack with everything you need to get started.

All T140 Public Clubs are pinned on the T140 Global Map, available online at T140.com and within the Player App. The pin provides people with a link to your Bulletin Board.

When you register as a Club you will be sent a welcome email along with a Summary which explains how to use T140 at your Club.

You can download a copy here

230905 Congratulations on joining T140 Public Venue

Private Clubs have all the features of the Public Clubs found on the T140 Global Maps however the Club's details remain private. It does not appear on our Global Maps.

This feature is provided to Clubs and Associations who do not wish to have entry to their Clubs or its Events available to the general public.

Registration and its associated features like the Bulletin Board and the Live Feed are free.

The T140 Events™ system is available to you on a user pay basis. You only pay for the T140 Events™ that you run. It costs you USD1 per Player per Event.

T140® creates and maintains an automatic Bulletin Board with key details about your Club, including:-

  • QR codes to any live events you are running, which people can view using our T140 TV app.
  • Your Club’s contact details.
  • QR codes to all the cue sports you offer so Players can register with your Club and be notified about upcoming Events
  • QR codes for any upcoming events so Players can register, and
  • Links to your social media channels.

The Bulletin Board is automatically updated by the T140® system, so you do not need to do anything. You Bulletin Board is also linked to the searchable T140 Global Map.

The T140 TV app is available online or via the Google Play store for use on compatible smart TVs. It allows for people all over the world to see the progress of any live Events. People can see the Event Timer, and Event Leaderboard, all updated in real-time, and automatically translated into supported languages. In addition, if the Club provides a live video of Event that is displayed too. T140 will be expanding its multi-lingual support.

All T140 Registered Clubs (Public, Private, and Personal) are provided with a unique club code, visible in the lower right-hand corner on the Club App home page. The Club Code provides Players with a quick way for them to find your Bulletin Board through the Player App.

The T140 Global Map will ultimately provide a map of all known cue sport clubs across around the world. It allows people to discover Clubs, including yours, in areas they live or may travel to. To start with, all pins on the map provide an opportunity for people to request more information on a pinned Club. Once you’ve registered your Club with T140®, your pin changes, and points instead to your Bulletin Board enabling them to register with you and play in your Events. It costs nothing to register.

You can generate QR codes in the Club Management page however we suggest you simply send Players a link to your Bulletin Board. All the code and other details they need are available to them there.

Once you have logged on the link to buy credits (along with your current balance) appears at the top of every page.

Events Credits

Just click on the bank symbol and select how many credits you wish to purchase. Secure purchases occur through Stripe by your credit or debit card. The Event Credits are available immediately. If you decide not to use them we will provide a refund to you for unused credits.

Once you have confirmed that the Players are present you click the “Finish building the Event” button at the bottom of the Event page. You then identify the tables being used with unique table numbers. Once you confirm that the Players have ready and have paid, just press “Complete check-in to the start the Event”.

There is nothing else to do. T140’s Microsoft Azure Servers in the Cloud will then run the Event for you directly with the Players. You don’t need to do anything else.

Yes. Once you log into the Club Home Page via T140.com you can choose to run an Event now or plan to run an Event in the future. The only difference is that the planned Events can be advertised by T140 for you.

You start by nominating the code, the date, the start time the number of tables and the event name. You can them advertise the Event. If all the available spots have been filled, you can increase the number of tables to allow more Players to play. The maximum number of players is 16. If you have more than that and sufficient tables you can run two (or more) Events at the same time.

You can advertise any planned Event when you are setting the Event up. We recommend that you do this. Our system will automatically email every player who has registered for that particular code at your Club.

You put your own message in as the advertisement (up to 360 characters). T140 sends an email to your registered Players asking them to check a message on the Player App. When they open that message, they can register for the advertised Event. The system works on a first come first served basis. Players will receive an email from T140® telling them they have successfully registered for the Event or that they are on the waiting list. If you wish you can modify the Event to add more tables for Players on the waiting list.

You can send further advertisements about the Event at any time.

T140 Ultra™ is also available. It follows the same format at a T140 Event™ however the major differences are:-

  • matches are decided off scratch. There are no Player Advantage points provided by the system;
  • there are no rule restrictions based on Player Divisions; and
  • the Ultra Events do not earn T140 Ranking Points

At the heart of the T140 Events™ system is our unique Player Advantage™. The algorithms which drive the Player Advantage™ ensure the T140 Events™ are played on a truly level playing field.

Two other unique aspects of T140 Events™ is that we have made some minor rule changes to improve player enjoyment and we have eight Player Divisions™. These Player Divisions™ complement those rule changes and enhance our Player Advantage™ system.

T140™ Divisions Guidelines from Division 1 (Elite) to 8 (Novice)

  1. Elite player – A Player who plays at a professional standard.
  2. Semi-Professional Player – Former professional players. A National Champion who has represented their country at international championships.
  3. Tournament wining Player –A Player who is competitive at a national championship. One who wins Local, State/Province and Country competitions
  4. Above average Player – A Player who plays at a high standard. A competition player who on their day can go deep into a tournament and hold their own against a Division 3 player.
  5. Average Player A Player who has a sound technique and good understanding of the game. A past Division 3 player or aspiring new champion.
  6. Local Club Player A Player who plays weekly in local team competitions and loves playing but who has no aspiration of a winning national competition.
  7. Social Player - A Player who has playing for a long time but plays for fun or one that is new to the sport and is above a Division 8 player.
  8. Beginner/ Novice Player. A new Player yet to demonstrate any consistent level of competence.

You nominate a player into a Division at the time they register with you at your Club. If they have already registered at another Club, then you do not need to do anything as they are already in the system.

If you don’t nominate a Division, the system uses a default value of Division 5. Once a Player begins playing, the T140 Events™ system tracks their performance over 1,120 minutes of Events and adjusts their Player Advantage™. At the conclusion of that time the Player will then have an official Player Advantage™ and be eligible for T140 Ranking Points. The Player Advantage™ continues to adjust after every time a Ranking Event is played.

Club guidelines for initial Player Division classification (with American Pool Fargo Rating)

At the heart of the T140 Events™ system is our unique Player Advantage™. The algorithms which drive the Player Advantage™ ensure the T140 Events™ are played on a truly level playing field and that everyone has an equal chance of winning.

Two unique aspects of T140 Events™ are that we have made some minor rule changes to improve player enjoyment and we have eight Player Divisions™. These Player Divisions™ complement those rule changes.

T140® Divisions from Division 1 (Elite) to 8 (Novice)

  1. Elite player – A Player who plays at a professional level. (A Fargo Rating of 800 and over)
  2. Semi-Professional Player – Former professional players. A National Champion who has represented their country at international championships. (A Fargo Rating of 700 to 799)
  3. Tournament wining Player –A Player who is competitive at a national championship. One who wins Local, State/Province and Country competitions. (A Fargo Rating of 600 to 699).
  4. Above average Player – A Player who plays at a high standard. A competition player who on their day can go deep into a tournament and hold their own against a Division 3 player. (A Fargo Rating of 500 to 599)
  5. Average Player A Player who has a sound technique and good understanding of the game. A past Division 3 player or aspiring new champion. (A Fargo Rating of 400 to 499)
  6. Local Club Player A Player who plays weekly in local team competitions and loves playing but who has no aspiration of a winning national competition. (A Fargo Rating of 300 to 399)
  7. Social Player - A Player who has been playing for a long time but plays for fun or one that is new to the sport and is above a Division 8 player. (A Fargo Rating of 200 to 299)
  8. Beginner/ Novice Player. A new Player yet to demonstrate any consistent level of competence. (A Fargo Rating of up to 199)

You nominate a player into a Division at the time they register with you at your Club. If they have already registered at another Club, then you do not need to do anything as they are already in the T140® system.

If you don’t nominate a Division, the system uses a default value of Division 5.

Once a Player begins playing, the T140® system tracks their performance over 1,120 minutes of Event playing time and adjusts their Player Advantage™. At the conclusion of that time the Player will then have an official Player Advantage™ and be eligible for T140® Ranking Points. The Player Advantage™ continues to adjust every time a Ranking Event is played.

If the Player has a robust Fargo Rating (more than 200 games played), then that value can be entered by a Club before the Player plays in their first Event. . The T140® system will then allocate the Player to a Grade in a Division that corresponds to that Fargo Rating. If the Player’s Fargo Rating is Robust that Player will be immediately eligible for T140 Ranking Points.

Global Rankings Points

When Players register, they need to play in eight T140 Events™ to obtain an official Player Advantage™. Players need a discrete Player Advantage™ for some codes however Events in either 8-Ball, 9-Ball and 10-Ball are combined so they only need to play in a total of 8 Events over the three codes. This also applies to Snooker & 6 Red Snooker and to Blackball & WEPF International Rules. Players must play in a total of 13 Ranking Points Events over a 52-week period to maintain their status as having an official Player Advantage.

The Player Advantage™ is a factor known exclusively to T140™ in respect of each individual Player. The Player Advantage™ system carries out a unique calculation for each T140 Event™ at the time it starts. The Player Advantage™ for each Event is calculated on the basis of:-

  • the Player's performance over the last 13 Ranking Points Events played and factors in the Venue/s where they were played; and
  • the previous performances of the Player’s Opponents. The Player Advantage™ system assesses the performance of each Opponent over the last 13 Ranking Points Events played and factors in the Venue/s where they were played.

Global Ranking Points will only be awarded in T140 Events™ where either four Players, or more than 50% of the Players playing (whichever is greater), have an official Player Advantage™. Only Players with an official Player Advantage™ can receive Global Ranking Points in any T140 Event™. By way of example, in a case where a T140 Event™ is conducted with 8 Players and only 6 of those 8 Players have an official Player Advantage™, only those 6 Players share in the Global Ranking Points. In this instance, the Player who finished 6th is regarded as the "last" Player for the purposes of Global Ranking Points table below.

Global Ranking Points range from 8 points for first through to 1 point for last. The distribution based on the number of Players with an official Player Advantage™ is as follows: -

The average number of Points which a Player earns in any Event is 4.5 Ranking Points. Accordingly, there is no advantage in the long-term between playing in a 4 Player Event or playing in a 16 Player Event as the average potential points enjoyed will be the same. An 8 Player Event has 36 points on offer. A 16 Player Event has 72 points on offer. Venues can conduct T140 Events™ of between 4 and 16 Players. If the Venue is in a position to play with 17 or more Players the Venue will need to run multiple Events.

Players will be ranked on the total number of Global Ranking Points achieved over the last 13 T140 Ranking Points Events played. Accordingly, the maximum number of points which can be credited to any Player at any given point in time is 104 and the minimum number of points is 13. The points calculate into many decimal places e.g. second place in a 4 Player Event is worth 5.66667 points

In the event of a tie in the number of points, Global Rankings will be determined in the first instance by the period of time between the first and last T140 Event™ in the 13 Ranking Points Event block played by that Player. The T140 Events™ system time stamps T140 Events™ using UTC and records the time. The shorter the period in which the 13 Ranking Points Events are played the higher the ranking for Players on equal Global Ranking Points.

In the unlikely event that Players have both the same Global Ranking Points and exactly the same period of time between the last 13 Ranking Points Events, then the Player whose Player Advantage™ has dropped the most from the 13th Ranking Points Event through to the most recent Ranking Points Event will be given a higher ranking.

T140® Tournaments conducted by T140® will generally be fields of 32, 64, 128 or 256 Players. Whatever the number is, half of the field will be determined by those Players who were at the top of the relevant Ranking at a designated date and time and the other half of the field will be selected at random from eligible Players within the geographical scope of the Tournament.

Once you commenced an Event it operates in the cloud. An internet failure won’t affect the Event. Only a failure of the mobile telephone services would have an effect.

At the beginning of the Event, we email you a copy of the roster for the Event. If both the internet and mobile services fail, you can print the roster and record the scores by hand.

If this becomes necessary, then once the Event has concluded, go to the Venue Management page. There is a link where you can enter the scores.

PLAYERS

Most of the questions above under the heading CLUBS are also relevant to Players' Personal Clubs.

Every T140® Player is automatically set up with their own Personal Club at the time they register as a player with T140®. The Personal Club is accessed when you log in via the T140 Player App.

Your Personal Club has all the features of a Public Club including a Bulletin Board and Live Video Feed, but you are not listed on our T140 Global Map.

Your Personal Club enables you to run your own Events at any Club, at any time and with whomever you wish. Your Personal Club details remain private to you. The only people who know them are the people you share them with. The Player running the Event only pays a small fee to T140® for the Event of USD per Player per Event which is the same fee the Public Clubs pay.

All the other features of T140 Events™ are available in your Personal Club.

Personal Clubs do not have the ability to plan and advertise events in the future. They simply use the Play Event Now feature.

When you register as a Player you will be sent a welcome email along with a Summary which explains how to use your Personal Club.

T140’s unique handicapping system, called the Player Advantage™, ensures that every Player has an equal opportunity of winning an Event. The T140® system carries out discrete calculations which analyse the playing history of each Player, their Opponents and the Clubs they have played at to calculate each Players' unique Player Advantage™ for each Event.
